• Create your business environmental baselines. Kwh of energy used per person, M3 Water used per person, Kg Waste per person. Benchmark your results on a monthly basis.
• Abolish all single use items at your business, no matter what material they are made off, single use is a thing of the past.
• Review your lighting and equipment, does this machine need to be on to make me money right now? If the answer is no, turn it off!
• Watch your bins, what are your most disposed items? Can you abolish them from your operations? Focussing on waste reduction will help given you eco friendly accommodation.
• Calculate the water flow rate of your taps, showers and cisterns. If they use more water than the good practice standards, reduce their flow. Water conservation is an important part of the process to make your hotel eco-friendly.
