Turn everyday waste into measurable savings and climate impact — starting with a single Waste Map (In under an hour!)
Cut the Waste
A practical, entry-level online course designed to help busy professionals identify, map, prioritise, and act on their organisation's waste with confidence.
Unlike traditional waste management training that stops at bins and recycling, this course focuses on the how.
How to map where waste is actually generated, understand what it's really costing you in money and emissions, prioritise the streams worth tackling first, and turn that insight into practical actions that reduce waste, cut costs, and support your climate goals.
Who is this course for?
This course is built for anyone who's expected to make progress on waste using circular economy principles (not just recycling), but hasn't been given the tools to actually do it. It's suitable for:
- Sustainability professionals
- Operations teams
- Facilities managers
- Procurement teams
- ESG leads
- Environmental coordinators
- Anyone with responsibility for waste or sustainability initiatives
No prior knowledge of circular economy or waste management required. Whether you're working through your own organisation's real numbers or the case studies provided, you'll come out the other side understanding how circular thinking changes the way you handle waste and exactly what to do next.
If 'reduce waste' is on your goals list but nobody's shown you how, this course was built with you in mind.
What will you learn?
By the end of this course, you'll be able to:
- Identify and analyse waste streams within your organisation using a Waste Mapping Toolkit
- Understand and prioritise each waste stream's financial cost, disposal method, and emissions impact
- Explain the shift from a linear to a circular economy
- Understand the connection between circularity, cost and emission reduction
- Apply the waste hierarchy and 10Rs framework to prevent and reduce waste
- Assess circular opportunities using the Climate Impact Calculator
- Build a clear, actionable waste reduction plan with steps, ownership, and timelines
- Gain access to the Waste Mapping Toolkit and Climate Impact Calculator for ongoing use
This content is practical, jargon-free, and immediately applicable, so you can work on your own organisation's waste as you learn.

What is CPD?
A CPD record helps keep a track of your learning progression from year to year. It is an individual’s evidential documentation of their Continuing Professional Development obligations for their professional body or association. Contained within a CPD record would be the register of learning activities, such as training courses, workshops and educational events attended, the number of CPD hours / points the individual has completed for any given year, as well as a copy of the delegate CPD certificates for each activity. These CPD delegate certificates act as validation that the learning has been attended and completed.
